Brussels totally won me over
The Grand Place is just ridiculous in the best way - those gold-trimmed buildings are unreal. Beer is everywhere and all of it good. Easy city to walk around and people were super friendly.
Way more to see than just the EU buildings
Came mostly for work but stayed a few extra days and so glad I did. The Sablon neighborhood is gorgeous - antique shops, chocolate boutiques, cute cafes. Waffles on every corner and they actually taste amazing. Brussels has real character.
Great city break with the family
Kids loved the Atomium - it looks like something from a sci-fi movie. The fries with mayo are a must, do not skip them. City is clean, well connected, and easy to get around. We packed a lot in without feeling rushed.
Chocolate, beer, and beautiful streets
Honestly did not think I'd enjoy Brussels this much. The comic strip murals scattered around the city are such a fun touch. Beer selection is insane - every bar has something different on tap. Would not change a thing about the trip.
Perfect long weekend destination
Brussels is one of those cities that just works for a short trip. The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert are stunning - fancy shops inside a beautiful glass-covered arcade. Pralines from the local chocolatiers are on another level. Never felt lost or overwhelmed.
Christmas in Brussels is something special
The winter market around the Grand Place and Sainte-Catherine square was absolutely lovely. Mulled wine, glühwein, lights everywhere. Cold but worth every second. The whole city felt cozy and festive without being too crowded.
